Volunteer
Volunteers come ready to work, give and serve. They are students, family members, and helpers. Whether it is their first time or their tenth, they always leave with a smile and a heart full of awe.
Our volunteers are comprised from a variety of backgrounds including teenagers, adults, and therapists from a variety of disciplines to help maximize each child’s experience.
In the words of some of our volunteers:
Camp Care has changed my life – now I know this is the kind of work I want to do when I finish college.” – OT student
I am always amazed by these beautiful children and their families…. It is such a blessing to be here (at Camp Care)” – DPT student
It is community service that I truly enjoy!” –high school student
We look forward to Camp Care every summer – we want to help any way we can” – Local Family
Camp Care is a safe haven and a place of hope for so many families and everyone else involved. It is a place unlike no other that is filled with love and a sense of normalcy for so many people. Camp care is a time where friends get to come together and enjoy quality time with each other while they receive the best therapy of all…love. There really aren’t enough words to describe the feelings camp care can give someone but I can say confidently it has changed me for the better. I wish camp could happen year around!!!! -Theresa Kaminsky
I have gained more through my years volunteering at camp than I would have in any other class that I could have taken. The ability to work with established therapists and such a diverse group of kids has been nothing short of amazing and rewarding. The holistic approach this camp takes really emphasizes that the child is a kid first and that is what we really work with”. -Lindsay Srour. OT
